Arn / Acon / Bell DC is a homeopathic blend of Arnica, Aconite and Bellis perennis, traditionally used to support dairy cattle experiencing shock, fear, bruising and soft tissue trauma.

It is particularly popular when cows first come into the shed and around calving, when physical and emotional stress can affect recovery and wellbeing.

Information

Arn / Acon / Bell for shock, bruising and calving support in dairy cattle

The transition into lactation places significant demands on dairy cattle. Calving, handling, environmental change and the physical challenges associated with parturition can all contribute to shock, bruising and tissue trauma.

Arn / Acon / Bell DC combines three well-known homeopathic remedies traditionally used to support recovery from both physical and emotional stress. The blend is commonly used around calving and during periods when dairy cattle may require additional support following strenuous events.

How does Arn / Acon / Bell work?

This combination contains:

  • Arnica, traditionally used for bruising and physical trauma
  • Aconite, traditionally used for shock, fear and sudden stress
  • Bellis perennis, traditionally used for deep tissue bruising and trauma, particularly involving the reproductive organs

Together, these remedies provide broad support for dairy cattle experiencing the effects of physical exertion, tissue stress and emotional upset.

When might Arn / Acon / Bell be considered?

Arn / Acon / Bell is traditionally used where dairy cattle are showing signs associated with:

  • Calving trauma
  • Soft tissue bruising
  • Shock following difficult events
  • Fear or fright
  • Physical stress
  • Reproductive tract trauma
  • Difficult births
  • Tissue soreness following calving
  • Recovery after handling procedures
  • General physical upset

Ideal for cows entering the dairy herd

Many farmers keep Arn / Acon / Bell on hand when cows first come into milk. The remedy is often selected during early lactation when animals have recently calved and are adapting to the physical demands of milk production, regular milking and herd management.

Supporting animals during this transition period may assist overall wellbeing and recovery.

Supporting reproductive health after calving

Bellis perennis is traditionally associated with deep tissue trauma and bruising involving the abdominal and reproductive tissues. For this reason, Arn / Acon / Bell DC is frequently selected following calving where cows may have experienced considerable physical exertion.

It is often used as part of a broader post-calving management programme alongside good nutrition, monitoring and husbandry.

Easy administration on farm

Arn / Acon / Bell is designed for practical use in dairy farming systems.

  • Spray directly onto the nose or vulva during milking
  • Add to drinking water
  • Add to feed where appropriate
  • Suitable for individual animals or herd-wide use
  • Easy to incorporate into normal farm routines

For herd support, add the remedy directly to water troughs or administer it during milking.

How to use

All Agripathics remedies are provided in liquid form, as this has proven to be the most practical and effective method of administration across species.

Individual Use:

For optimal absorption, remedies are best applied to a mucus membrane. In dairy cows, this typically means the nose or vulva. During milking, the vulva offers a convenient access point. A suggested approach is to spray 3–4 times per dose, ideally at three intervals: when the cow enters the shed, when cups are put on, and again at cup removal. This spacing allows for a minimum five-minute interval between applications, supporting consistent uptake and response.

For other farm animals, placing the remedy directly into the mouth or via food or water is generally the most effective method.

Group Use:

For herd-wide support, remedies can be added to the water trough. Adding 1–2 capfuls ensures that each animal receives a dose with every drink, allowing for repeated exposure throughout the day.

Base Composition

Formulated in a liquid base of human‑grade undenatured ethanol (10%) and purified water.

About Our Ethanol Base

Our remedies are preserved using human‑grade undenatured ethanol, selected for its purity and suitability across species. The gentle 10% concentration supports product stability while remaining appropriate for routine use with companion animals, birds, horses, and livestock.

Ethanol and Animal Administration

Each dose contains only a minimal amount of ethanol. Most animals tolerate this well, and remedies may be administered orally, added to feed or water, or applied topically depending on species and context.

For animals with known sensitivity - or when cautious administration is preferred - the following approaches may be used:

  • Dispense drops into feed and allow to stand for 20 minutes before offering

  • Dilute in a small volume of warm water and allow to stand for 20 minutes prior to administration

These methods allow partial ethanol evaporation while preserving the integrity of the active ingredients.

Ingredient Philosophy

We select ingredients with a focus on purity, safety, and functional integrity. Our undenatured ethanol base reflects this commitment - clean, balanced, and suitable for diverse species, from household companions to performance and production animals.

FAQ's

Is ethanol safe for animals? Yes. Our remedies use a very small amount of human‑grade undenatured ethanol (10%), which is widely accepted as safe for routine use across species.

Why is ethanol used in the remedies? Ethanol acts as a gentle preservative, helping maintain stability and potency over time. It also supports the integrity of homeopathic preparations.

Can sensitive animals still take the remedy? Absolutely. For animals with known sensitivity, drops can be added to feed or diluted in warm water and allowed to stand for 20 minutes. This allows partial evaporation while keeping the remedy effective.

Will my animal taste the ethanol? Most animals show no reaction at all. When added to food or water, the taste is minimal to undetectable.
