Information

RV Nosode DC

Rotavirus nosode, is a homeopathic remedy made out of actual rotavirus tissue including bacteria and used on the principle of homeopathic prophylaxsis.  RV nosode will help your farm animals immune system when suffering from or at risk of rotavirus.

A good tool to use alongside other rotavirus measures, as a preventative or with electrolytes.

Nosodes are used as preventative measures and also when there are ill effects from a disease.

Can be used alongside organic production animals.  Check with your certifier.

Natural Pet is an NZ-owned and operated small business handmaking homeopathic remedies for animals. All our remedies have a shelf life of 5 years.

Available in a 200ml or 500ml bottle

All 500ml bottles come with a free 100ml spray bottle to dispense remedy into and for ease of use.

100ml spray bottles for ease of administration are available to purchase.

We use pharmaceutical-grade plastic bottles, so they won't break and tamper-proof lids, so they won't come off in the bike carrier box or when out and about on the farm.

How to use

All Agripathics remedies come in liquid form, as we find this is the easiest way to administer.

You can treat a dairy cow or farm animal individually or at the herd level.

Individually

Homeopathic remedies are best administered on to a mucus membrane, for dairy cows this means either the nose or vulva.  When the cows are in the dairy shed the easiest way to administer is to spray on to the vulva.

I like to administer at least 3 times per milking - when the cow comes into the shed, when I put the cups on and again when I take the cups off.  I usually do 3-4 sprays as a single dose.  This allows her to have at least 5 minutes between doses and works really well at getting the amount needed into the cow to get an effective response.

For other farm animals the remedy is best administered into the mouth, food or water.

Herd Level

This is best done by putting into their water trough, so putting 1-2 capfuls in their drinking water means each time they drink they are getting dose.

For young animals you can spray on to nose or add to milk, water or electrolytes.

How long will a bottle last:

Individual treatment: there are 750 single doses in a 200ml bottle and 1875 in a 500ml

Herd treatment: at 1 capful rate there are 40 doses per 200ml bottle and 72 per 500ml

All instructions on how much to use and duration are on the bottle.

Ingredients

Homeopathic Ingredient:

Rotavirus nosode

Base Composition

Formulated in a liquid base of human‑grade undenatured ethanol (10%) and purified water.

About Our Ethanol Base

Our remedies are preserved using human‑grade undenatured ethanol, selected for its purity and suitability across species. The gentle 10% concentration supports product stability while remaining appropriate for routine use with companion animals, birds, horses, and livestock.

Ethanol and Animal Administration

Each dose contains only a minimal amount of ethanol. Most animals tolerate this well, and remedies may be administered orally, added to feed or water, or applied topically depending on species and context.

For animals with known sensitivity - or when cautious administration is preferred - the following approaches may be used:

  • Dispense drops into feed and allow to stand for 20 minutes before offering

  • Dilute in a small volume of warm water and allow to stand for 20 minutes prior to administration

These methods allow partial ethanol evaporation while preserving the integrity of the active ingredients.

Ingredient Philosophy

We select ingredients with a focus on purity, safety, and functional integrity. Our undenatured ethanol base reflects this commitment - clean, balanced, and suitable for diverse species, from household companions to performance and production animals.

FAQ's

Is ethanol safe for animals? Yes. Our remedies use a very small amount of human‑grade undenatured ethanol (10%), which is widely accepted as safe for routine use across species.

Why is ethanol used in the remedies? Ethanol acts as a gentle preservative, helping maintain stability and potency over time. It also supports the integrity of homeopathic preparations.

Can sensitive animals still take the remedy? Absolutely. For animals with known sensitivity, drops can be added to feed or diluted in warm water and allowed to stand for 20 minutes. This allows partial evaporation while keeping the remedy effective.

Will my animal taste the ethanol? Most animals show no reaction at all. When added to food or water, the taste is minimal to undetectable.
